Budget Snag

Apparently, President Obama doesn't have the pull in the senate that we previously thought. It was reported today that there are not enough votes to pass the budget. One of the hang ups seems to be Cap and Trade for carbon emissions. If you are not familiar with Cap and Trade, it is basically a tax imposed on carbon producing facilities, such as electric generating plants, refineries and the like. a cap and trade system would limit the amount of carbon emissions a company can produce, and they would be required to purchase licenses for each ton of carbon emitted. As you can guess, this cost will be passed on to you, the consumer. So, it is a tax on YOU. The reasoning behing Cap and Trade is affect climate change. (Global Warming.) Hopefully, the senate will stand strong, and oppose the White House on this. The last thing we need in a dire recession is more taxes. Oh, and its supposed to snow tomorrow.
